Camellia's flowers - Dutch varieties, Ukrainian production, non-chemical cultivation

News

Once a year, flowers attract attention and enjoy the greatest demand - on the International Women's Day. On the eve of the spring holiday we will tell you how our flowers are grown, what are their benefits and how to lengthen their resilience.

Roses and Tulips from "Camellia" are Dutch varieties grown in Ukraine, taking into account the world's best practices. Climate systems are used in greenhouses, which maintain an ideal temperature throughout the year; systems of drip irrigation of plants that control computer programs; systems of additional artificial lighting, which extend the daylight for the plant.

And most importantly - for more than 7 years, we do not use chemistry and grow ecologically pure flowers.
Any company can boast of similar results not only in Ukraine, but also throughout Eastern Europe. Only a few producers of roses in the Netherlands have similar successes and the right to place on their products the mark "Green Mark", which means absolutely pure production. Buyers in Europe are very attentive to this sign and on flower auctions the products of such companies are highly valued, bought in the first place and for higher prices.

Therefore, giving flowers from "Camellia", you can not be afraid of allergic reactions to the residue of pesticides, inevitably present in the colors of other manufacturers. And due to the absence of toxins in the stems, the stability of the flowers (life after the cut in weight) prolonged repeatedly.

Conditions for storing roses and how to prolong the life of a bouquet in vase

Advices from vice president and director of "Camellia" production Sergey Zagoruiko

On durability in vase influences hundreds of factors during the process of growing, storing and pre-sale preparation. Some of them reduce durability for several hours or days, but only improper air humidity can create a situation when bouquet in two hours at home "hung its head".

Before landing a new variety, it always passes the test on "life in vase". If the durability is less than two weeks, the rose will not be produced. In the greenhouses where roses are grown, the ideal humidity for development is set to be 75%. After cutting the rose enters the refrigerator, where the same correct indicators are maintained. When a rose is delivered to a point of sale, there may be a lot of options: a closed market without heating, a refrigerating chamber in a flower shop, an underground passage, but in all these places humidity, except for the summer period, is also relatively high.

But in the final, when you bring a bouquet home, it gets into a room where humidity rarely exceeds 30% and this is the most damaging factor for the continuation of the life of the rose. And if you are not ready to fill the apartment with a bunch of moisturizers and clouds of fog, remember a few tips that will increase the chances of survival:

First, buying roses in the store, ask them to wrap bouquet in a non-perforated film.
At home, without decomposing cellophane, we cut the rows of stems 2-3 cm and put a bouquet in a vase on 15-20 cm filled with water.
This way you give the rose time to adapt to new conditions. For help, you can use special products (such as Vaselife or Crysal), but in no case do not use "folk" supplements (sugar, citric acid, etc.).

Secondly, after a day or two, remove the film and leaves from each stem, with the exception of the last 3-4 petioles with leaves in the upper part. This way, we reduce the total surface of the leaves from which moisture can evaporate.
Cut, put in fresh water. The water that rises along the stem becomes enough to maintain the livelihoods of the bud. Do not be sorry to remove more leaves: this will not affect on rose and it only improves the bouquet's look in the vase.
After that we change the water and cut the bouquet every two days.
If you were given a bouquet, wrapped in paper etc., you cane use at once the second point.

There is another common belief that the stability of the rose affects its "aging", but it's just a myth.
Rose of yesterday's cut and a week's cut will be different in the time of opening at room temperature and the color of the bud, but with proper care will please you one or two weeks.
